Effect of Rotor-Stator Spacing on Compressor Performance at Variable Operating Conditions

This paper investigates the effect of rotor-stator spacing and operating conditions on compressor performance interaction mechanism. We focus between rotor wake stator’s flow field through several unsteady numerical simulations aiming at a transonic stage in equal radius path with two-axial three conditions. The simulation results indicate that time-averaged efficiency almost declined by 0.6 points due to mixing loss ranging from close far nominal low load deep upstream leads corner separation high spacing, imposing fluctuating frequency where stator near shroud oscillates, as found dominant screening method. Under all conditions, transport can reduce static pressure surface weaken hub leakage afterward.
